Kangoo Club Malaysia (KCM) is holding its 2nd Annual Goothering at Burger King Outlet c/o Petronas Service Station, Mutiara Damansara.

It has been nearly a year since the Inaugural Goothering held at the same venue in June 06. We hope that this 2nd Goothering would be a bigger success than before and will continue to grow from strength to strength for the years to come.

And this year we are extending this invitation to our sister club, Renault Club Malaysia, to join with us together in our appreciation of French motoring.

KCM would like to invite all Kangoo lovers & enthusiast to this auspicious gathering. And make this goothering a smash.

The day started early for at least for 10 gooster families, some heading towards Sg Buloh overhead R&R for the rendezvous check point. And some like me, who thought I was late when straight to Rawang. And Eki san, Rawang being his backyard went straight there too.

Since I missed the pit stop at the R&R, I can’t report much what went on there but I assume that the gang scoffed down copious amount of breakfast as they were, ironically, last to reach the Resort.

It was a great pleasure at least for me to meet with the gang – “old hands” and new ones & their lovely spouses & kids. Unfortunately Tom had to leave the party early as jr. developed some allergy spots which made Mrs. Tom rather worried & they duly left to seek treatment. Happy to report that it was nothing serious with Tom Jr. & we hope he’ll remain healthy always.

Mutiara Damansara, 8 June – Kangoo Club Malaysia held its very first gathering, a meeting of the minds, so to speak, on a sweltering June morning last Sunday, the 4th. For lack of choice venues, McDonald’s at Mutiara Damansara was our location for this meet as it offered ample parking space, and also because it was free. It was also perfect for us Goosters to park our Goos in one symmetrical row for others to go Goo-goo Gaa-gaa over them.

The Goo-thering, as we have taken to calling it in Goo-speak, provides the chance for the members to, first and foremost, put the faces to the cyber-friends that we have been conversing with. It creates an opportunity to build camaraderie, to meet and mix and mingle, in a way no amount of ‘forumming’ or chatting can do.

It gives us the chance to touch and feel, (the Goos, I mean) to try and answer any queries about the condition of each other Goos, and also to gawk at (with greenish envy) what the other guy or gal has on his or her ride that we don’t have.

The Goo-thering has also progressed to the stage that we’ve attracted curious onlookers to not just give us a once over, but to actually approach us and make friendly inquiries. Such is the pulling power of the group, as a row of oh-so-very-unique cars is a sure-fire head-turning, jaw-dropping scene to behold.
